The Road to the YBR

Bryce Austin, founder of YBR Ventures, Kansas City

Hi, I’m Bryce

I grew up in a small beach town on Lake Michigan and the last six years making long-weekend trips to Kansas City to see my now fiancée, Annie. Two years ago, I relocated and made KC home. Along the way, I picked up an obsession with fixing clunky & complex processes.

I got my start in fast-paced, customer-facing roles, working everywhere from high-end restaurants to Tesla Motors, where I organized test-drive events, managed logistics, and discovered how the right system can transform chaos into a seamless process. After relocating to KC, I joined a manufacturing company and immersed myself in daily operations—handling orders, inventory, scheduling, ISO requirements, and all the small handoffs that make or break a shipment.

To stay accurate and fast, I started building Excel + VBA tools: quote calculators, PO→SO converters, BOM generators, and coverage sheets. Those quick fixes saved hours, reduced errors, and soon other teams were asking for tools. I began standardizing templates for ISO-ready documents—locked inputs, clear headers/footers, and validations so anyone could use them correctly the first time.

That’s how YBR Ventures came to life: a practical automation studio focused on operational wins for small and mid-sized manufacturers. I don’t chase buzzwords—I ship tools that make your next order easier than your last.

What I build

  • Quoting calculators that price correctly the first time

  • PO→SO converters that map customer formats to your system

  • BOM generators that eliminate retyping and mismatches

  • ISO-ready forms/SOPs with guardrails and audit clarity

How I work

  • Start simple → measure → iterate

  • Use the stack you already own (Excel/VBA/Python)

  • Document the workflow so the process outlives the person

If you want fewer manual steps, fewer mistakes, and faster throughput, let’s talk.
